Summer season – September to March
In summer, Little Athletics is held at Morrison Reserve Athletics Track from 8:45am-11am on a Saturday morning. Athletes (under 6 to under 16) rotate through five events in their age group. The events are a mix of running, jumping and throwing.
Age groups are defined by the age of the child on the 1st of January. Children aged 8 on the 1st of January 2022 will be in the under 9 group.
Some coaching is provided and we encourage athletes of all abilities to strive for their Personal Best (PB). The focus of our athletics club is to have fun and learn as they go. Athletes will improve at their own pace in a supportive group under the supervision of age group leaders, coaches and club members.
Come and Try days will be run in September – come along and have a go! Or join at any time for a two week free trial.
Winter season – April to September
In winter Little Athletics moves into cross country mode. Each Saturday morning, it rotates through four local parks. Athletes run between 500m and 3000m depending on their age.
Details for the Summer and Winter seasons are available on the AV website. Athletes travel to different venues throughout the season and represent Yarra Ranges as a team.
Training is available Tuesday and Thursday nights year round (under lights when necessary).
