Round 4
Saturday morning again offered up fantastic conditions for our Yarra Ranges and Croydon athletes for Round 4 of the cross country season at Elizabeth Bridge Reserve in Kilsyth.
With all 4 rounds of the cross country season thus far attracting 120+ runners, this weekend’s round proved to be our largest turnout yet with 135 finishers across 5 races for the morning.
On a fast but deceptively tough course, all runners pushed themselves hard to set a time to try to beat next time we run the course.
Next week we return to Morrison Reserve for our first opportunity to push for a new PB. Chocolate frogs are on offer for those that smash their PB this weekend, so make sure you come on down and have a crack!
Knox Open Day
Knox Little Athletics Cross Country Open Day is Saturday May 22nd. There will be no YRA Cross Country at our venues. Please register for the Knox Open Day.
We encourage all Little Athletics registered athletes to join us at the Knox Open Day.
When racing other clubs, wear the YRA colours. We can lend you singlets.
Help us keep the Perpetual trophy!!
Details on how to register are here.
President’s Report
Hi everyone! I just wanted to send out a massive thank you to the small group of volunteers that helped out at the canteen last week for SSV’s athletics meet, it is fantastic to see our community willing to engage and help out where needed.
I would like to again call on everyone to lend a hand at YRA, our club and the events we run are operated entirely by unpaid volunteers who are passionate about aths. We are so grateful for their continued diligence in ensuring that everyone, young or old, can enjoy athletics and cross country.
We are looking for a few people to help out on the Welcome Desk/Results Table this weekend at Morrison Reserve, it makes the time fly by. Even I was able to do it! The more helpers that we have, the more time we can all spend out running!
I hope everyone is able to find a PB this weekend because the chocolate frogs will be coming out! Helpers don’t fear, I think we can spare one or two for you too!
We will be having our first official committee meeting next Wednesday evening and we welcome visitors, please email the committee if you would like to attend or there is a matter that is important for us to discuss. We represent the YRA community and hence it is important that we have a broad view of what matters to our members.
Feel free to contact the committee at committee@yarrarangesathletics, or myself at president@yarrarangesathletics.org.au
