Weekly Newsletter – Dec 29

Fairly short edition this week!

Vic Milers Club

A massive night was had at Vic Milers Club by our Seniors on the 22nd. Inspired by a 1500m World Record being run by Jaryd Clifford (3:44.58), many ran to new PBs which will no doubt be very challenging to break again!

Congratulations to everyone who ran despite the challenging wet and windy conditions.

Two Bays Trail Run Carpark – Sunday Jan 17

This is a significant fundraiser each year, raising over $2000 with very few costs.
We operate a pay on entry carpark on normally closed lighthouse grounds for the event. Two Bays Trail Run has over 1000 entrants, and many tourists visit the area also. The carpark plays a vital role in reducing ‘on road’ parking.

The location is the gorgeous Cape Schanck, and with enough helpers it leaves plenty of time for sightseeing while in the area.

Earliest start is approx 6.30am and the latest finish approx 3pm (with enough helpers the full duration is not required)

Tasks are directing cars / collecting parking fees / radio communication. Simple and shareable tasks.
Volunteers receive some reimbursement for fuel and food.
E-mail av@yarrarangesathletics.org.au if you can help.

Have a safe a happy break

The club wishes all of the Yarra Ranges Athletics families a very safe and happy Christmas.
A massive congratulations to everybody involved in our brief season of athletics – athletes, parents, helpers, officials and committee, we thank you all for the tenacity that you have shown.

2020 has been a significant departure from what we would consider a “traditional” year, and we are so privileged to have the community that we do to get us through the challenges.

We look forward to seeing you all back when Littles resumes on Saturday 16th January 2021.
