Yarra Ranges Athletics welcomed Australian athletics legend Kyle Vander Kuyp to our Morrison Reserve track on Saturday morning. As part of the “Coles Little Athletes Big Dreams” program, Kyle spent nearly an hour answering questions, taking photos with our athletes and even found time give some athletes some hurdling tips. It was certainly a fantastic opportunity to meet and listen to an athlete who is the current Australian 110m hurdles record holder and has represented Australia at multiple Olympic Games.
Kyle was fortunate to watch some quality hurdle events as athletes rotated around their 5 events over the morning. Once again great to see so many athletes enjoying the opportunity to compete with friends and try to acheive personal bests.

Seniors
Our senior team enjoyed patches of fine weather for round 2 of AVSL. With members spread between Nunawading and Doncaster tracks and over the 4 time slots at each venue it was difficult to provide much support. A big welcome and congratulations to Violet Hall and Cameron Yorke competing in Yarra Ranges colours for the first time. Thanks to James Anderson and other club members who helped with our club duty.

Michael Clarke Wins Frankston to Portsea Ultramarathon
Former club president, Michael Clarke, surprised many including himself by winning the Frankston to Portsea Ultramarathon. A 55km journey along the Peninsula. Michael rolled home in an impressive 4 hours 29 minutes 42 seconds.
